Description
William Kentridge`s mosaics for the Toledo station of the Naples underground The interior is characterized by two large mosaics by Kentridge and made by the mosaicist Costantino Aureliano Buccolieri: the first is placed in the mezzanine of the station and depicting a typical Neapolitan scene, full of people on the move, including the author himself and San Gennaro. There are many references to Pompeii in particular to some figures as well as to the mosaic style in general and to Vesuvius. In the background there are topographic maps of the city. From Wikipedia
