Pictured is a Bronze sculpture of Peter inside the Basilica at Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey near Barcelona, Spain. He is seated on a throne and holding the keys to heaven in his left hand and the right raised in a blessing. Pilgrims traditionally touch and kiss the foot so the toe is worn down. He sits on a stone pedestal which has the Latin inscription of part of Matthew 16:18 - `You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church`. The original by Arnolfo di Cambio cerca 1300 is in Saint Peter`s Basilica in the Vatican.
