Vintage pictorial diagram of Mine-Sweeping 1930s #
Description
Mine-Sweeping - Pictorial diagram showing how the sweeping wire, drawn by two vessels, catches the mines without exploding them. When a number have been thus collected they are exploded by a heavy charge. Minesweeping is the practice of the removal of explosive naval mines, usually by a specially designed ship called a minesweeper using various measures to either capture or detonate the mines, but sometimes also with an aircraft made for that purpose.
