Description
A lionfish, also called firefish, tasty fish, and turkeyfish, is captured moving slowly and cautiously at the Ripley`s Aquarium of Canada, located a stone`s throw away from the tall landmark of Toronto, Ontario, the CN Tower. The lionfish belongs to the Order Pterois. It is a venomous, stinger laden marion animal which is native to the Indo-Pacific region. In the wild it may live 15 years, and in captivity it typically can live 10 years. The females are incredibly fecund, laying up to 2 million unfertilized eggs per year.
