Description
Pictured are columns and double-tiered arches of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba in the Spanish region of Andalusia, Spain. The Great Mosque was constructed in 785 and converted to a Roman Catholic cathedral in 1286. These Muslim columns were added after 987 in the prayer hall of the al-Mansur extension. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
