Wild carrot, Daucus carota is a biennial herbaceous plant that grows to a height of 20 to 120 cm. In contrast to the garden carrot, the storage root of the wild carrot is pale. The flowers are disc-shaped, carry nectar and are in a compound umbrella. Wild carrot root can be used in the second year just like garden carrot root, but it differs in that it tastes sweeter and contains less water.
