The San Francisco Walk for Life West Coast is an annual event, first held 22 January, 2005, the anniversary date of the 1973 US Supreme Court law on Roe v. Wade decision on abortion. Every year since, an annual event has been held on the Saturday closest to the January 22 date.Speakers included not only various clergy, but woman themselves who went through the agonizing torment of an abourtion, and one woman who could have been terminated because of her autism, and is now even a college instructor herself. After the speeches there was a two mile walk from the Civic Center Plaza down Market Street to the Embarcadero Plaza.
