Bogroad at the edge of Ballycroy National Park with vast peatlands and the Wild Nephin Mountains on the horizon. The visitor centre of the National Park is close by in Ballycroy. Prior to their purchase by the State, the National Park lands were used for turbary, agriculture and recreational uses including fishing, shooting, and hillwalking. Now it is protected area.Turfcutting is still allowed on the edge of the park.
