Closeup of White cyclamen flowers in basket. Cyclamen persicum; sowbread or swinebread #240077801
Description
Closeup of a flower and a leaf from a buch of White cyclamen flowers in a basket with handles.Cyclamen are tuberous perennials with rounded, sometimes angular, leaves which are often attractively mottled with Christmas tree pattern on leaf. The nodding, characteristically shaped flowers have 5 reflexed and twisted petals, often with dark markings at the base. Most cyclamen species originate from the Mediterranean, where summers are hot and dry and winters are cool and wet, and are summer-dormant: their leaves sprout in the autumn, remain through the winter, and wither the next spring. Cyclamen are commonly grown for their flowers, both outdoors and indoors in pots and carriles in wooden baskets.
