White Ayutthaya style prangs with stucco reliefs, seen here at Wat Mahathat Worawihan, a Thai Buddhist temple in Phetchaburi #240742666
Description
Prangs, also called prasats, are stone or brick towers built independently or as part of a larger Hindu-Buddhist religious structure. They represent Mount Meru, a sacred mountain that stands in the center of the universe. Prangs were first built by the Khmer Empire in Cambodia & later by the Thais of Ayutthaya. Prang shown here is from Wat Mahathat Worawihan in Phetchaburi city, Thailand.
