Description
Japanese short grain rice or Uruchimai refers to a short-grain cultivar of Japonica rice, where the kernels are plump and short in length. They also contain more moisture and are characterized by their unique stickiness & texture due to the higher content of amylopectin. Japanese rice is most commonly consumed as plain rice Gohan as part of a meal or bento boxes and is used to make sushi and rice balls.
