Description
The bridge spans the Avon Gorge and the River Avon, linking Clifton in Bristol to Leigh woods in North Somerset. It is Grade I listed. 412m long, 31m wide, 101m above water line, 26m above deck, longest span 214.05m . Opened in 1864 to an original design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It is a toll bridge the income from which provides funds for repairs and maintenance.
