To ingest the chimarrão, use a metallic straw about 25 centimeters long and with holes at the end to filter the herb.After filling the gourd the container with ground yerba mate, boiling water is added.In the southern states of Brazil, almost the entire population drinks chimarrão in winter, whether at home or in public squares.
