Remagen, Germany - 06 10 2021: Bridge of Remagen towers, Friedensmuseum Remagen seen from Erpel #242700345
Description
Remagen is a small town at the Rhine, south of Bonn. The famous bridge of Remagen was the last Rhine bridge standing in world war 2. The battle of Remagen was a key battle for this bridge. The bridge collapsed a few days after the allies conquered it. Both the west towers in Remagen and the est towers in Erpel are still standing. The story was covered in a motion picture in the 1960s. The east tower was sold a few years ago.
