The Vointa Arad Sports Club was founded in 1890 being the first rowing club in Transylvania: `Association of Mures rowers Arad`. It is currently a rowing, kayaking and cycling club - performance and amateur. Arad is the capital city of Arad County, Transylvania. It is the first important city in Romania at the entrance from Central Europe, being located on both banks of the Mures River. The city is the main gateway to Romania, being the most important road and rail junction in the west of the country.
