Description
Licorne is the French name of an 18th- and 19th-century Russian cannon, a type of muzzle-loading howitzer. In 1788, in the Battle of Svenksund during the Russo-Swedish War of 1788 - 1790, this cannon was captured by the Swedes. In the subsequent Russo-Swedish War of 1808 - 1809, it was returned by Russian troops during the capture of the fortress of Sveaborg. Exhibited at the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineering and Signal Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Saint-Petersburg, Russia
