Description

Uhlans are a type of new European light cavalry armed with pikes, sabers and pistols, which got its name from the Tatars. Uhlans were first introduced in the Polish army, and from there they were borrowed into the troops by Austria, Prussia, and Russia. The external distinguishing attribute of their clothing was a tall, quadrangular Mongolian headdress Uhlan cap - uhlanka or confederate. This sample is presented in the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineering and Signal Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Saint-Petersburg, Russia
