Dalia or Dahlia is a plant of the sunflower family, bipedal class. Its distribution center is in Mexico and Central America. It is such an attractive flower found in many colors and sizes that there are more than 50,000 species of different colors and forms except blue. Due to the colorful flowers, dalia plants are planted to enhance the beauty of the gardens. Linnaeus named this plant `Dalia` or `Dahlia` in memory of the Swedish botanist named `Dahl`.Major species of dahlias for plumed petal species are Diana Grigory, Hall Mark, Little Willow, Little Merian, Rohnda, WJN, Willian Johnson, Gordon Lake Wood, Gillin Place, Willow Surprise, Martil`s Yellow, Lismore Peggy and Pennecord Marian is particularly well known. The smaller species include Alpen marjorie, Downlham royal, Red admiral neti, Victor D, white neti, Brookside deirdre, sea miss, coinonia.
