Figured vessel, clay small oinochoya in the form of Kore`s head. Athens, 500 - 490 BC #244123975
Description

Enochoya, oinochoya - an ancient Greek jug with one handle and a wide bell mouth, ending with three plums bends of the upper edge. Such vessels have been known since the era of the Cretan-Minoan culture. Oinochoes were intended for pouring wine at the banquet table at symposiums. The ingenious design of the mouth allowed the cup-bearer, slightly changing the position of the elbow and turning the hand, to pour wine sequentially into three bowls placed side by side - into one through the front, and into the other two - through the side drains of the mouth.
