Title
Thimble berry Rubus parviflorus, 2. #245124018
Description
The Thimble berry, Rubus parviflorus, looks like, is very much like, raspberry, but much more delicate, fragile. because of this, it does not ship well, limiting the exposure to the greater population. The bright red fruit, when ripened in the late summer, depending on location, is enjoyed much like the raspberry. Once the fruit is removed, the hollowed out part remaining, resembles a thimble.Although the Natives did also use this plant medicinally, there is absolutely no modern indication the medical treatments actually work.As seen in the San Francisco Botanical Gardens of Golden Gate Park 6 April 2022.
