Great blue heron, Ardea herodias, chicks by about four weeks, are becoming quickly bigger and more rambunctious. Although they will lay from 3-6 eggs per season, only one egg is laid at a time, usually one to two days apart. Because of this, usually only one chick will hatch at a time, and this one will be the nests dominate, claiming first feeding, and the most, causing it to grow both the fastest and the most.
