Description
In this monochrome, actor and singer Robert Morse arrives on the red carpet for the 65th Annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on June 12, 2011. In 2011 a successful revival was mounted of the legendary Broadway musical , `How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.` Morse won a Tony for his leading role in the original production 50 years earlier, in 1961. Morse`s acting and singing career on stage, screen, and television lasted nearly 7 decades. He won a second Tony for `Tru,` playing the role of Truman Capote in a 1-man show in 1989. Morse also won a SAG Award and 2 Primetime Emmys. He was part of the Emmy for Ensemble Acting in a tv drama, playing the role of `Bertram Cooper` in `Madmen. Morse was playing a prominent role on Broadway as recently as 2015-2016, playing `Mr. Pincus` in `The Front Page.` Morse died in his Los Angeles after a short illness on April 20, 2022, at the age of 90.
