Bucharest - Dambovita River Stock Photo

Pictured here is the new building of the Romanian National Library, on the banks of Dambovita river, near Unirii Square. Dambovita is the only river that passes through Bucharest. After flooding in the beginning of the 20th century and with the construction of Bucharest Metro, the river was channeled. Although polluted, Dambovita is a popular fishing area for locals.
