Description
The Great blue heron, Ardea herodias, builds their nests in a colonie of a hard to reach trees with other Great blues. Depending on locations, start building their nest around mid to late February then lay their eggs, and they start to hatch about a month later. These chicks are now about five weeks old, not quite old enough to start flying, fledging, which usually start at around seven to eight weeks.As seen at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park 22 April 2022.
