Description
Pinhel is a municipality, former Catholic bishopric and present Latin titular see in the central subregion of Beira Interior Norte, in Portugal. Pinhel Castle, the guardian of one of the oldest towns in the country, is a fine example of Portugal`s unique Manueline architecture. The main façade of the Santa Maria do Castelo church is composed by a round arch on the doorway and by a circular window sided by a campanile in which the superior one has a double bell ringer. There is, on this façade, one window with a view to the Via Sacra.
