Allen Ginsberg Performs at USC in Los Angeles #247857301
Description
Poet, musician, and `beat` icon, Allen Ginsberg, gave an unusual performance, reciting poetry and chanting, at the University of Southern California at the Bovard Auditorium in Los Angeles in 1974. His eclectic paraphernalia was aimed pointedly at then president Richard M. Nixon, who resigned some months later at the height of the Watergate scandal. Adding to the festivities was Ginsberg`s father, seated in rear, poet and teacher Louis Ginsberg. Ginsberg died of multiple ailments, particularly liver cancer, in New York City, on April 5, 1997 at the age of 70.
