Description
Built in 1836 by Daniel's Denniston and company of New York, this building was offered free to be the home of the legislature if Cassville were to be selected as the wisconsin state capitol. Nelson Dewey, the states first governor later purchased the bundling and ran it as a hotel in 1854. When madison was selected to be the capitol site. Today the building is in disrepair and endangered on the national register of historic palces.
