Pictured is the rock-cut inner chamber of The Tomb of Nemtymes, one of the New Kingdom tombs in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt. The magnificent statue of a cow is Hathor, the goddess of love, music and motherhood. Under her head is a standing human figure, King Ramesses II. Nemtymes was an important official during the reign of Ramesses II from 1279 to 1213 BC. He was the king`s royal envoy to all foreign lands, the chief steward of Memphis, and the overseer of works in the temple of Ptah. The tomb was discovered in 1997 by the French Archeological Mission headed by Alan Zivie.
