Historic Springfield Union Station opposite the Lincoln Presidential Library in downtown Springfield, serves as a museum and is included in the Lincoln Library campus. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, building first opened in 1926 when train travel was in it's heyday. This was the fourth train depot in Springfield. Brick, romanesque architecture and gleaming terrazzo floors show the romance on the train travel era.
