Description
Pictured is the central interior dome of the Alabaster mosque situated in the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt. Portions of the half-domes which surround the central dome are also seen. The mosque was built in memory of Tusun Pasham, the eldest son of Muhammad Ali, who died in 1816. This mosque, along with the citadel, is one of the landmarks and tourist attractions of Cairo. The architect was Yusuf Boshnak and it was completed in 1848.
