Description
Pictured is a painted relief in an astonishing state of preservation on the back wall of the Sandstone Chapel inside the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, Egypt. The relief depicts King Tuthmosis III making a fire and water offering to Amen-Re. The museum was built in 1901 to a design by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. In 2022, the museum is due to be superseded by the newer and larger Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
