Those immature leaves are called “Gok Athu” and the decorations made by the coconut leaves consist of a dissimilar beauty. Those decorations are mostly used in cultural and religious events. Also, Coconut leaves can be woven to create effective roofing materials. Some houses in Sri Lankan villages use these woven coconut leaves for their roves. Also, coconut leaves can be used in preparing hats and mats.The flower of the coconut tree is considered a sign of prosperity. Also, it is used to extract coconut honey to make a sweet called “Hakuru” and make an alcoholic drink called “Ra”. “Hakuru” is used in preparing sweets majorly.
