TheàRuwanweli Maha Seya, also known as theàMahathupaà& x28;the Great Thupa& x29; is aàstupaà& x28;a hemispherical structure containing relics& x29; inàAnuradhapura,àSri Lanka. Two quarts or one Dona of the Buddha& x27;s relics are enshrined in the stupa, making it the largest collection of his relics anywhere.[1]àIt was built byàSinhaleseàKingàDutugemunuàinàc.à140 B.C., who became king of Sri Lanka after a war in which theàCholaàKingàElÃÂraà& x28;Ellalan& x29; was defeated. It is also known asàSwarnamali Seya,àSvaá¹â¡Ã¡Â¹â¡amÃÂli Mahacetià& x28;inàPali& x29; andàRathnamali Seya.
