Kanneliya is one of the rain forests that belongs to natural beauty of Sri Lanka. It is a tropical rain forest that harbors a large number of floral and faunal species while providing home to a range of unique microhabitats. It is only second to the Sinharaja forest in terms of genre richness. The Gin Ganga river complex nourishes Kanneliya while the forest is dotted with a number of natural pools and small water falls.
