Description

The history of Shancheng Alley in Chongqing, China can be traced back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1900, French missionaries set up poles on the slope of this alley to light up passersby, hence the name Tiandeng Alley. In 1972, it was renamed Shancheng Alley. The streets, lanes and stairways built along the cliffs here are unique.Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, Shancheng Lane has been an ancient residential block that has continued to this day.
