Description
Pictured is a copy of one of two life-size guardian statues that were placed on either side of the door to the burial chamber of King Tutankhamun. The original statues were discovered in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. They were made of wood painted with black resin and gilded in bronze. This copy is on open air display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. An original is on display in the Egyptian museum, enclosed in glass.
