Description
Pyxida - in ancient Greece, a small round box with a lid, designed to store jewelry and cosmetics: spices, ointments or ointments. The name, known since Hellenistic times, comes from the Greek word `boxwood` Greek Ãâ¬Ãâ¦Ã¾oÃâ, from which such products were originally carved. Similar vessels were used in the gynaecium the female half of the house. This vessel with images of Eros, garlands and masks of Medusa was discovered in Kerch in the `Tomb with a Golden Mask`.
