Description
Cachoeira do Caracol is a 130-meter waterfall, located 7 kilometers from the municipality of Canela, in the Caracol State Park. It is formed by the Caracol River and cuts through basaltic cliffs in the Serra Geral, falling into the Lageana Valley. The falls are located between the pine forest pine forest of the Brazilian Plateau and the Atlantic Forest of the south coast. The base of the waterfall can be reached by a steep trail of 927 steps maintained by the Lobo-Guará Project.
