Description
The Vancouver Olympic Cauldron is located at the Jack Poole Plaza, which looks out across the harbor, the Burrard Inlet, and North Shore Mountains. This waterfront plaza, near Canada Place, has become a popular hangout for visitors and locals alike. The massive torch was built and lit to mark the official opening of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and has become a permanent landmark. Itââ¬â¢s now lit for special occasions such as Canada Day and to celebrate major achievements and events. At 32.8 ft 10 m tall, the Cauldron is set against a beautiful mountain and harbour backdrop. This is also the beginning of a seaside walkway that meanders along Coal Harbour and becomes the Stanley Park Seawall.
