Description
Pictured is a closeup of the exterior of the North wall encircling the Great Hypostyle Hall in the Precinct of Amon-Re in the Karnak temple complex near Luxor, Egypt. The roof, now fallen, was supported by 134 columns in 16 rows. It was built by Seti I and decoration of the southern wing was completed by the 19th Dynasty pharaoh, Ramesses II. The exterior of the north wall is filled with a panorama of war scenes celebrating the military achievements of Seti I.
