Description
Alvinza Hayward was a man of many means, and successful it seems at them all. He was in banking, having been a director at Bank of California. He was in mining, gold, silver and coal, and very successful at them all. He was in many other fields as well. His office building, of Montgomery Street at California, is the first fire proof building in the city, is shaped in the letter `H`, his initial. Built in 1901, it was purchased by C. Frederick Kohl in 1904, is now a city landmark.As seen 9 August 2022.
