Description
Completed in 537 A.D. under Byzantine rule, Hagia Sofia, also called Hagia Sophia, was originally a Christian church. It later became a Muslim mosque in 1453. Originally in Constantinople, upon the fall of Byzantium, it became Istanbul, Turkey . Under Kemal Ataturk in 1935, it became a museum. It maintained this status until 2020 when the structure was once again designated a mosque. The building is 180 feet tall.
