Pictured is `Stiff Box 12`, a Cor-Ten steel sculpture by Lucas Samaras installed in a courtyard at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. It is a public artwork created by Samaras in 1971 and acquired by the University of Michigan Museum of Art in 1997. It had previously been on display in the White House gardens, while on loan from the Guggenheim Museum. This sculpture has two distinct halves. On the left the steel gracefully curves and makes loops with rounded edges. On the right the steel is angular, sharp and jagged.
