Carpinteria Corbina California Salt Marsh 2022 5 #254967989
Description
Salt marshes, by definition, are coastal areas which regularly flood and drain the land, leaving the salt, and leaving decomposing plant matter, the marsh, under water. Carpinteria`s salt marsh, in addition to being home to many salt hardy plants, are also important to all sorts of migratory animals along the Southern California Coast. The Carpinteria Corbina, Menticirrhus undulatus, fish are able to feed in areas as shallow as only a few inches. They grab mouthful of sand, spitting out the sand, along with shell matter and other fish parts, out of their gills. This 230 acre park is a unique, living environment, as enjoyed here 15 August 2022.
