The Cathedral of Carrara is dedicated to Saint Andrew, the Apostle and is built entirely of marble, stone and wood. The marbles used are mainly Apuan marbles such as white marbles, Bardiglio, Nero di Piastriccioni, Rosso di Castelpoggio, but some also come from quarries in the provinces of La Spezia, Lucca, Siena and Genoa.
