Description
The main cuisine consumed by Sri Lankans is rice. All of the districts farm paddy as a wetland crop. Currently, there are thought to be roughly 708,000 Hectares of land used exclusively for paddy. There are two growing seasonsââ¬âMaha and Yala, which correspond to the two monsoons. Maha Season runs from September through March of the next year's North-East Monsoon, whereas Yala Season is from May to the end of August.
