The Woolly yarrow or Blood woundwort, Achillea tomentosa, has a very long history, both in the medicine bag and kitchen.Both the botanical name, Achillea and the common name Blood woundwort go back to the ancient Greek hero, Achilles, who had his men treat their wounds with this Woolly yarrow. In addition to the many other medical uses for the plant, there are also a lot of uses for it in the kitchen, both fresh or dried, of almost the whole plant. Everything from a spice, to brewing beer or tea.
