Description
Common eland (Taurotragus oryx), also known as southern eland or eland antelope, occurs in East and Southern Africa. A species in the family Bovidae, itââ¬â¢s a savannah and plains antelope. It is the second largest antelope in the world after the giant eland. Mainly a herbivore, its diet is primarily grasses and leaves. It prefers habitats with a wide variety of flowering plants such as savannah, woodland and open montane grasslands.
