Ribblehead Viaduct, looking south, North Yorkshire #25764718
Description
The famous Ribblehead viaduct, in the North Yorkshire hills and moorlands. Completed in 1875, in Victorian times, this building project would have been on a par with the modern construction of the Millau viaduct in France. It took thousands of Navvies, years to complete, and cost many lives. It carries railway traffic from quarries and the famous Settle-Carlisle tourist line.
