Museum of Saint Florian in Krasnik, Poland #259039039
Description

Actually, it is the Chamber of Fire Traditions with its seat in Kraśnik. Although its collections exceed the majority of regional museums in Poland, it does not have the rank of a museum. In addition to almost 1000 pieces of exhibits in the field of fire, we can also admire the collections of the inhabitant of Kraśnik, Szczepan Ignaczyński, who cooperates on a daily basis with the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service. This enthusiast has amassed a great collection of crank-powered devices. Among the 300 exhibits there are razors and machines from all walks of life. You can also admire exhibits from the field of military and music. Some are over 150 years old, but there are a few modern devices modeled on the old ones, but made of plastic. The second large collection is a collection of piggy banks, from those from the nineteenth century to the present day. Piggy banks come from all continents, are made of alloys of various metals, as well as wood, leather, glass, porcelain, plastic and even paper. Among the three hundred piggy banks collected so far, a subgroup in the shape of a "pig" stands out. As it turns out, it is the most popular form of piggy bank around the world, known for several hundred years. Several piggy banks are closely related to Kraśnik. After the death of John Paul II, one of the rooms at the Fire Tradition Chamber was dedicated to Our Pope. In addition to photos of this great Pole, you can also see several dozen coins, stamps, telephone cards, medals, postcards, as well as items used in Karol Wojtyła's youth.
